Anyone considering plastic surgery should read this book first.Not. In all honesty, makeup looks as good as the structure in which it's placed.This book gives excellent advice on how to use makeup to hide facial flaws and maximize your appearance. The models are true-to-life, not paid for from an agency. How-to instructions are clear and understandable, and the before and after photos delight and inspire.I really liked this book. Yet, for every technique presented, I could not make the dark hollows under my sleepy eyes disappear.

This makeup book give the power of illusion, but I rather see these makeup techniques in person without any possible of Photo shop or special lightening that enhances the appearance of the makeup technique. I don't trust how the YouTube`s makeup gurus because they use special lightening to make their scars or under eye bags less noticeable. Don't sale me a fantasy, but sale what's realistic and what I will expect on my makeup and its appearance. I want a realistic lightening and see visuals or photos are realistic representations of the makeup look. Most of the time I don't trust makeup books because the possibility that Photo-shop had taken place and special lightening. This book gives a very in depth on why you need to use a moisturizer, find the right color in your concealer, what are good inexpensive brands, home remedies, and description on different types of makeup (foundations, powders, lip balms, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, concealers, highlighters, and blush). The women in the book skin looked way too perfect. Their faces looked natural and I never met a woman who makeup looks completely natural even it's the "No makeup look". Women who had Arcus Deformity (puffy under eyes) and the women who had tear Trough Deformity (sunken in under eye bags with a lack of fat underneath); bags are completely gone without any puffiness or the crease underneath the eye in this book. I have Tear Trough Deformity; no amount of makeup could cover up my creases. I saw women who covered their Arcus Deformity with makeup but I still seen the puffiness despite their attempts to cover it up. This is one of the reasons; I asked the possibility of photo shop. I did enjoy the book but not the condition it arrived in. The cover had what appeared to be coffee and food stains on it. I wiped it clean with an alcohol wipe and it was fine. I was a bit surprised that it was sent to me in that condition.

Eve Pearl does AMAZING things with people's flaws. Even though she uses pretty much the same for everybody, she does an amazing job with flaws. I mean, that's what the whole book is all about. Unlike other makeup books, Eve Pearl works with real people, not professional models or hollywood friends: it's real people like you and me who don't have flawless skin or perfect eyes or noses. I am a subscriber of Eve Pearl's youtube channel and you can see her in action, everything on this book comes to life as she does it... so go ahead and buy it, you will learn a thing or two in how to look closer to perfection.

This book is great for begginers and i guess also for experienced people.They've exaggerated with the title, but even so i think you can get incredible results in your makeup after having this book. It is true that you won't achieve with normal amount of make up the results that you see in the photos and trying to get the flawless faces that shows the book would look too unreal in person, but probably it would work for a photo session.I like the fact that anyone can follow all the advices in the book without spending too much money, also the chapter of the tools (brushes,etc) was great, i learned a lot. I must say that this book gives you the general techniques and tools needed to get the effect you want, the rest is practice.The book has a good presentation and nice paper, but i expected a bigger size, fortunately the content was worthy.I don't regret that i bought this book, it's a good beggining.

If you've experienced the torture of the TWW, you *need* this book. After a MMC earlier this year, we're back to TTC, which means experiencing those two weeks of hoping, wishing, planning, doubting, second guessing, and generally driving ourselves crazy. Lindsay is here to save the day, offering a series of tasks and challenges to help me focus on something, ANYTHING other than the what-ifs. (Plus a handy guide to the online fertility boards' acronyms, since if you're like me, you spend a chunk of your TWW obsessively googling.)Her book is witty, funny, caring, and exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!

During the TWW you hear a lot of opinions from people that haven't been through that time. So I'm picky about what I consume because I don't really care about others opinions. I liked how it was written. It was concise, light, funny, but thought provoking. I've shared this with two other women going through the same situation. I bought it as an ebook but wish I purchased a hard copy so I could write out the challenges and use it as a journal.

This book was a bit of a surprise. I went in knowing full well that I may just be out of my jurisdiction on this book. Obviously I’m not the intended audience…and yet… Starting this book out, I was just a little bit in over my head. Just a tad, I live with my mom and sis, and though I give them crap for too much info, it doesn’t bother me. Same with this book. It didn’t bother me, and it was rather interesting to read. Mostly because she’s not afraid to actually speak. By that I mean, there’s the sass, there’s the little bit of humor, and light heartedness that comes out when speaking about a tough topic. She keeps the words floating in good rhythm, sort of lightly bouncing along, trying to help get things to the point quick and clear as possible, while maintaining that lighthearted tone. After that, I had let the author know that I may be a bit rough on the edges with the feedback/review. Then she told me something different, something that shifted my perspective a bit. “I think the theory can still apply to anyone dealing with trauma of some kind.” You see I was so caught up in what this was for, I didn’t really think to see it otherwise. And so I read on. Now let me just say, I hold myself tight to my chest. I don’t open up, I don’t do none of that. My politics, religions, my past, my experiences, etc. are all my own. Very few people know about me, even my parents are in the dark. This being said, I’ve done, said, seen, some stuff I can consider pretty damn negative things. Just read the s*** I write, it ain’t hard to believe. So I can safely say, things were opening up a bit as I read this.I’m reading this, and I’m actually taking notes. Some of it I’ve actually done (cleaned up my desk, my little garage corner, unfollowed Facebook friends etc.). Other stuff, I’m very willing to do. I’m just thinking, where the hell was this book a few years ago. Or last month. Or…anywho back to the review. She’s giving advice, followed by challenges, followed by notes. All of this is a sort of step by step process, BUT at the same time, she’s giving notes as to help allow yourself to customize it to your needs and your wants. Even with the mentions of the fertility (which is the topic at hand, don’t forget), these things aren’t too bothered down constricting limitations. Now for the subject of this book. While this book focuses mostly on the female side of it, it’s something that I think that should be read by both. The author doesn’t seclude the idea that the guy may be reading this. I mean, s*** the guy ought to know what’s going on and have an understanding of why this is being done and when. Hell it might even be best that the couples do this together. It just seems like the kind of thing that the man and woman would read, experience, and help out with. This was a very interesting read, an eye opener, a self-opener, a kind of perspective shift, and just all around not what I was expecting. What as I expecting? Not a freaking clue, but it wasn’t this lol.

As a survivor myself of domestic violence, I can attest that what this author wrote about is absolutely true. Suffering from severe endometriosis, gastrointestinal problems, allergies and other ailments, it can definitely affect a woman's ability to conceive. The Two Week Wait is such an accurate telling of the agony of the what-ifs and can really help ANYONE with learning how to slow oneself down and stay in he moment. Felt like I was reading a children's book.

This guide is refreshing, engaging and full of helpful ideas and resources. Lindsay is sharing what I have been teaching my clients for years and so much of what I am finding helpful in guiding women through the TTC, infertility and loss journey. The tools she shares are part of how we will all thrive and not only survive this journey. Lindsay’s humor makes you feel like you have a nonjudgmental best friend by your side through the arduous wait of the days leading up to testing. Her daily challenges and assignments provide a easy and tangible framework for the reader to wrap both their heads, hearts and hands around in order to prevent being completely consumed by worry, anxiety, anger and anything else that pops up in the Clomid crazy train of infertility treatments. I highly recommend this book to anyone going through the TTC journey, no matter where they are in it. This guide combined with speaking your story and seeking help will help you to define your own happy ending, no matter what you get from the journey. I would peruse this review guide before tackling any other reading on this subject. This gives you an overview of project management from beginning to end. What I especially like is the glossary of terms. Learning the language first will help you with your reading of the more in depth books (this is not a substitute for you in depth reading). There are also flash cards which are a good study aid. If you begin with this book, the concepts of project management will not be as overwhelming because the material is clear and understandable. Very well written. This will also help you if you are straddling the fence concerning whether you want to become certified or pursue a degree in this area.

I bought this book to speed thru the review of the PMP processes. I have Kim's other book (PMP Project Management Professional Exam Study guide), but needed a way to quickly see the inputs, tools and outputs without the surrounding verbiage found elsewhere. The book delivered this need for me. The PMBOK Guide will serve the same function as this PMP exam review guide if you have it on your shelf. The CD on this book does not include as many tests as found on the one in the PMP Study Guide. The book met my expectations but did not exceed them. PMP Project Management Professional Exam Review Guide

Although the book claims to align with the PMBOK 6th edition, it doesn't. The 2 new processes are listed in chapter 2 in the Understanding the Project Management Knowledge Areas section but they are NOT included in the chapters that describe the processes in detail.

Book does not cover PMBOK 6 fully. Vital areas such as Tailoring the PMBOK processes and Consideration for Agile & Adaptive environments were not covered in the book.

This is the third Paddle Pilgrim book I have read. I sincerely mean it when I say Dave makes me feel like I am traveling with him and wish I was on the adventure. The combination of reliving the experience and beautifully describing it simply makes the read totally enjoyable. Even if you are not an adventurer the pictures, the descriptions, the discoveries are simply delightful. Since reading Dave's first book about traversing the Mississippi River I have paddled in Minnesota and Scotland. I am now drawn to Norway and its incredible beauty and people. Making friends along the way of each of Dave's adventures is simply intriguing to me. It is as if magical people and moments are simply an every day occurence. They are there when you need them and there just because these incredible folks are there and willing to share their lives and provisions. Kayaking the Fjords of Norway is about way more than the fjords of Norway and yet everything about the fjords of Norway. I highly encourage people to read it.

I was immediately caught up in this diary even before the kayaking begins. Dave has paddled solo on the Mississippi from its northern tributary down to New Orleans; from Buffalo, New York, to the Statue of Liberty. I was with him in spirit on these journeys through his writing. The same is true for this book. This time there is a team travelling together. All have Norwegian ancestry. They paddle to where their families lived before coming to America: Voss, Hardanger, Drydal, Sogne Fjord, are just some of the places visited in this month long journey. Even if you don’t kayak, don’t hike, and are not an outdoorsy type of person, you will enjoy reading of their adventures, experiencing some of your own joys and delights and, yes, even Murphy’s Revenge. Thank you, Dave, for your sense of family, adventure, and delight.

Third in a series by this kayaker, who has recorded his paddles down the entire length of the Mississippi and from Buffalo down the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty. Here he slows down to take in the magic of two huge Norwegian Fjords and some side trips. The author's heritage began in this part of the world, and he seems to hear echoes of ancestors' voices as he paddles and hikes this pristine landscape. He skillfully weaves thoughtful reflections with practical details, putting the reader "there" with him as skillfully as any wilderness traveler you'll find. The book invites you to slow down and savor the experience, It's one you'll want to read more than once, like a long well-done meditation on the Zen of paddling in such spiritually eloquent beauty. It strikes just the right balance between the practical and the ethereal that floods the senses in such places. God created this beautiful country, and from it Ellingson has created a masterpiece of wilderness travel.

This book brought up my own memories of going to Norway to search for my roots. But Dave added on top of his roots search the grand adventure of kayaking the fjords. A dream trip! I don't think I'll ever do that so this story if his journey is the next best thing. Enjoyed the descriptions and his moments of reflection. Thought provoking stuff.

I recommend this book to adventurer and seeker and thinker and prayer and ponderer alike. However, if you have not read Dave's first two books in the Paddle Pilgrim series, I urge you to start there as his adventures on the Mississippi and the Erie Canal so influence and inform the experience found upon the waters of the Norwegian fjords. Prepare to read slowly, although the pace of the adventure will want to help turn the pages for you. Don't fly through the "Ponder" sections - really ponder them with Dave. Read a paragraph and stop. Listen. See. Saturate yourself in wonder and mystery, and then move to the next day. Dave offers something of a ritual - even liturgical - in the way the book is formatted, and do be sure to take full advantage when you read. And then share the book with someone else! I was nervous because it had been so long since I had read the Gideon series. Not because I didn't think it was a good read (because everything EJD writes is good), but because Gideon had been gone so long. Didn't know if he would still have his pizazz from the first 3 books. EJD accepted my challenge and Gideon was bigger, better and stronger than ever. This book was so well written I forgot that Gideon had ever left at all. Reading this book was better than watching any action movie I've ever seen. We've found Gideon... some of us are happy about that, others are sad. My question is... when will we see him again?

Wow! You've done it again!! I have lost count on how many times I've read the first four books because they're awesome and in anticipation of finally the next (not last) book of the series.. And in anticipation of Finding Gideon, I reread all four books again and loved that FG picks up literally right after Resurrecting Midnight. This is classic EJD, taking the reader on a ride so to the point, you see, smell, taste and can see the places. Each time I had to pause my reading, it felt as though I was pausing a movie and couldn't wait to unpause...Now I'm going to go back and read it again because like any good movie, I know I've missed something the first time. Among all the character returns, I LOVED seeing the Bajan from A Wanted Woman....can't wait for more!!!!

EJD Has Done It Again! The wait for Gideon to reunite with Mr. Midnight was everything and more! The battles were epic and the unanswered questions of where and who's my mother and father were answered. I had to slow my reading because I didn't want it to end yet but still hunger ed for the rest of the story. Gideon has like 100 lives with the cure of the trusted BC Powder. Awww I need Gideon to rest but hopefully he reappears even if he gets to be a normal guy. Maybe his brothers will join him. Thank you EJD for the Ride! Magnificent Until next time Gideon ♡♡♡

I enjoyed seeing the past through Midnight's eyes as he regained the memories he'd lost when he was shot. I also enjoyed learning a little more about Gideon and the lies his mother told him. The problems in his life stemmed from his mother and I think they will end with her. There were a lot of details in this book and a lot of them didn't move the story forward. I think I would have enjoyed it more if he'd cut out some of the extra details and at least ended the book with Gideon actually arriving in Yerres to find some of the answers to his questions but I guess I'll just have to wait for the next book.

Thank you for finally releasing the next installment of the Gideon series. Oh, how I longed for him so. My passion to see this character come back to life equalled that of Miss Jones and Miss Mack. Well, in this book Gideon is thrust head on facing the demons that haunt him daily and the ones lurking to assassinate him at any given moment. How will he conquer and overcome them ?? Well you have to read and find out. As always, Mr. Dickey takes the reader on an action packed adventure with Buenos Aires as the backdrop. It is there, Gideon will face his toughest battle as his mind and body are rattled to the core and riddled with needing to solve who is he?? Let's not forget, the infamous Midnight is looking to finish this war that Gideon has begun. With these elements intertwined makes for a read that will definitely not disappoint. Thank you Mr Dickey for the history lessons on Buenos Aires and the political stances do not go unnoticed. I can't wait for next Gideon book because all the lies are not fully unearthed.

I was excited when I found out that the next installment to the Gideon series would be coming out. Placed pre-order months ago and was happy when it finally arrived upon its release date! I was not disappointed. Finding Gideon picked up where the last in the series left off. Gidon and his league of assassins going against the Four Horsemen fighting for survival. EDJ does a great job at painting a colorful picture of murder and intrigue as Gideon unravels lies searching for the truth to skeletons from his own past. He also did what I had expected he would do and was grateful that he had. It has been a long time coming but well worth the wait. I love how you develop each character and their story. Catherine still has to many secrets that I still will put them all in danger again. Could Gideon really have a twin? If so who? Is he an assasin? Who is this mysterious MX99 that contact Gideon to help the Bajah man? Is the Beast or Midnight his father? You have left me wanting more answer... I really enjoyed this book and will be anxiously waiting for the next installment. Please don't have us waiting to long, I might go crazy!

Like everyone, I’ve been waiting 10+ years for this book and as usual, EJD has blown me away. I absolutely love Gideon. Which is crazy, because he’s a killer. However, that’s not the only thing he is, and it’s his other attributes that you fall in love with. In the first book, you’re introduced to one person and it seems that by the end of this book, we’ve been introduced to all facets of him. I’ve read some books where it seems the author doesn’t know their own characters from book to book. That is not the case with Gideon. He’s stayed true throughout all 4 books and I loooovd him today just like I did 10 years ago!

There are all kinds of tools, but some are easier to recognize. For example, most kids can recognize a hammer or a screwdriver, but some are a little more difficult. What is that tool that "has two flat bars" that has "small windows" between them? It's called a level. There are uses for all kinds of tools and "levels make jobs easier." Two boys look carefully at the bubble in the middle to determine if the board they have placed it on is level or flat. When you use a level they "work across and up and down." The woman with the hard hat and safety glasses on is using it up and down.When you take a look at the level's little windows you will notice a small tube. Within the tube there is a bubble that moves back and forth. If you take a close look at the pictures you can see a level with three tubes and another with two. If you have a level you can try placing it on a shelf and watch as the "bubble moves to the center of the tube." Check out the library shelves in this book. In one the "bubble is centered" and the other it's not. It's easy to see that the first "shelf is straight or even." Can you think of other ways to use a level?This book is a good way for young children to learn about the level and how it is used. The photographs are visuals that are very useful tools in themselves as it is easy to see the purpose of the level and how it is used. The two-page spread which shows the two library shelves will be particularly helpful. The series, "Tools at Work," discusses the hammer, level, saw, screwdriver, wrench, pliers, and their use. I do like the stress on safety measures as many kids enjoy using and learning about tools. In the back of the book is an index, a glossary, a "Safety First" section, and one that discusses why we need levels.
