But she shines in this new genre she has taken on and I have been totally captivated by them. Garrison's Law features members of the Garrison family, a Texas based crowd who take law enforcement seriously.Natalie Brewster and Case Garrison are both hit by a sniper/assassin in a public place with one bullet. A bullet meant to kill them both. They are both undercover, Case, an ex-Navy SEAL and about to be retired FBI agent and Nat so deep she doesn't even exit. They hit the assassin but he lives and he is just angered and now comes after them with a vengeance. So do a lot of other assassins. They are being tracked and can't figure out how or why. Both Case and Nat have some seriously deadly skills and know how to survive attacks. In the middle of all this, they figure out they kinda like each other. But in order to proceed further with their feelings, they have to stay alive and that doesn't seem too likely.This is not your typical Connealy book. She hits the ground running and the action never lets up until the very end. It will hold your interest till the very last word. Seriously full of action, a great crime drama that will stand up to any episode and beyond of Law and Order. I know there are two more Garrisons and I hope more will come out of the woodwork, maybe some cousins or something so this series can continue. Highly recommended.
I love, love, loved Loving the Texas Stranger. Mary Conneally grabs your attention with an explosion of bullets on the first page. These two tough characters are an unlikely love match. Chase and Nat (Natalie) are strong physically, sharp mentally and drop dead gorgeous. He’s FBI, she’s so deep in black ops there are no initials for her organization. Someone wants them dead and they must figure out why while avoiding attackers. There’s mystery, intrigue and lots of running and hiding in odd places. Such a fun read. I was delightfully surprise when the killer is revealed, and all the piece of the puzzle fall into place. This is book four of the Garrison Series. Each is a stand alone but once I read the first one I had to read the rest. They can be read out of order. Mary Conneally continues to be one of my favorite authors.
The 4th book in the Texas Lawman series, Loving the Texas Stranger, finds Case Garrison, undercover FBI agent, & Nat Brewster, deep deep undercover CIA operative, in deep trouble as a hired assassin shoots them both with one bullet--but fortunately misses all vital organs. The hiding & hunting is nonstop throughout the book. A page turner for sure. My only caveat is the lack of proofreading which would have caught the errors easily. Nevertheless, i anxiously await the next installment.
Action/Adventure that you cannot put down. Amazing characters who you will be rooting for all the way through every twist and turn. I only wish it was longer, because I can't stop thinking about the characters and wanting more.
I loved every book in this series. It was an adventure, I was guessing at every turn. Such a great story. I hope there’s more for the other Garrison siblings.

Mary Connealy has done it again! She's written a nailbiter of a novel that can't be put down. This reader and reviewer has almost no nails left! What a heart pounding read this was!​ That said, Mary Connealy's sense of humor has the reader hooting at the most unexpected times. Thankfully, this peppering of humor throughout keeps the reader sane as we wade through blood, gore and guts... figuratively speaking, that is.An assassin takes a shot to kill two people with one bullet. His bullet hits his targets but he's seriously underestimated their resilience. Natalie Brewster, a deep undercover agent for a group that doesn’t officially exist, saw the gunman reflected in the glass. She knew that he definitely waited, lined up the shot, but just as he squeezed the trigger, she thrust the man in front of her toward the Metro stairs in front of her. The Assassin tried to kill both of them...with one shot! Nat and Case Garrison hit the ground bleeding, but they both come up shooting.That just makes the killer, Prometheus, livid. He never misses.Now Case and Nat, who have never before met, must figure out what they have in common to make them a killer's target. Not to mention, they have to do it while running for their lives. Despite the two of them being highly skilled at keeping a low profile, the killer keeps finding them. Contrary to their knee jerk reaction to stand and fight, they run at break-neck speed, hiding with all the skill of long-time undercover agents while falling in love with a passion that might be one reason why dodging the killer has become so hard...their focus isn't as sharp as they need it to be when the person they are running beside is so doggone attractive.Clues to their dilemma keep surfacing, but their panicky cross country flight, not to mention that doggone attraction, keeps them from connecting the dots.This reviewer found this novel nearly impossible to put down. It kept me reading far, far past bedtime. What an incredible novel. By it, rent it, borrow it...but be prepared to lose a whole lot of sleep!
