My book was delivered sooner than expected and in good condition. This one was 1 of a series of 24 currently out-of-print and now I have them all.

I have read the first thirteen of the Phantom Stallion series, and Golden Ghost is one of my favorites. Like all the Phantom Stallion books, a lot of different story lines are presented throughout the book. You get to know not only the human characters, but also the horses, each of which have their own personality as well. I highly recommend the Phantom Stallion series for any horse lover!

This was actually the first Phantom Stallion book I read. I won it from our libary when I was ten and I didn't really care for it at that time. I re read it a few months ago and loved it!! This one is a great book if you like mysteries along with horses. It's one of my favorite.

This is a fantastic book. It is a mystery that involves Jen's family's lost horse, the ghost town, and the water that has chemicals in it that kills animals. You should defenetly read this book!!

Sam and Jen have been assigned to do a report on the ghost town of NuggetWhile they're there they see a horse that looks to be a ghost! It's not a ghost but it's the lost Kensworthy palomino Golden Rose! Jen's parents are fighting andon the break of moving to town. Jen is desperate to keep her family together but the only way is to catch Rose. And just how easy is it to catch a horse that's been freefor over 2 yrs? Sam sees The Phantom with Rose and if The Phantom wants Rose as his new lead mare it will be even harder to catch Rose. But finally they are able to catch herand bring her home.

We bought this book for our granddaughter who enjoys reading books about horses. In particular, she loves this series. She wanted Book #8 to help complete her collection.

I'd recommend this for clinics that don't have access to specialty services to assist with diagnostic interpretation.

A somewhat disappointing book. The picures are not very helpful, and there are no actual radiographs. The ultrasound pictures are completely useless. I recommend spending more money and getting a better book (not Thrall, which is even worse).

These stories are now in the public domain, and they seem to have been printed right off the computer screen. Or from a typewriter. (Does anyone use a typewriter anymore? But that's what it looks like.) A very cheaply made edition and very hard to read. Takes half the fun out of it. Buy another version, even if you have to pay a dollar or two more. You'll be glad you did.

I read Wodehouse when the insomnia takes over each night, usually starting between 2 and 3 am. Usually settles my mind within 20 minutes or so. Puts the world right as rain, settles the soul, calms the heart, and I can sleep again. Happy times, problems solved. P. S. My next robot will be a Jeeves.

Someone once said that criticising PGWodehouse was like taking a spade to a souffle. That about sums it up. People from George Will to Christopher Hitchens love him.

It's Bertie at his best once again. Jeeves is not as much in evidence as in some of Bertie's adventures, but Jeeves shimmers in to save the day each time, as always. This is another delightful Wooster romp.

Classic Jeeves & Wooster stories. All loosely tie together but can also stand in their own. Not a bad place to start for someone getting introduced to the Wodehouse Universe.

Yes, he was a fool during World War II, but surely we can forget that stupidity since we won the war, last time I checked, over 65 years ago? Time to forgive, since PG brings so much pleasure to those who need a pick-me-up at the end of a long day of honest toil, and don't want to hit the bottle -- at least not too early in the evening.

I bought this as a gift for my step dad for his birthday.My ex husband and I used to listen to these and we loved them and I highly recommended them to my step dad, as he drives a truck and is on the road a lot and thought this might be something he would like instead of having to switch stations on the radio as he drives across the US to pick up and deliver trailers.When he heard a clip of the dramatizations he loved them, as he likes westerns. I personally am not fond of westerns, but I absolutely LOVE Chick Bowdrie dramatizations by Louis L'Amour. They are very interesting, almost like watching a movie with the dramatizations opposed to just someone reading the book, which is boring, to me.There is absolutely nothing I DON'T like, however, I was not told this would be included in my other order of another Louis L'Amour collection that I had ordered. I made 2 separate orders, not ordered together or at the same time. I ordered one collection, then a few hours later I ordered this set and both orders came together in one box, but that is okay. They are both for my step dad for his birthday. They both got here A LOT sooner than anticipated, which was VERY nice. I ordered them on Sunday, March 10th,2013 and they weren't supposed to get here till today (Wednesday March 13th), but they both arrived yesterday, the tracking said it would be by yesterday, even though the receipt said they wouldn't be here till today (Wednesday), and it said that it would be here around 8:00pm but they got here by 4:30pm or earlier. I was VERY impressed and VERY pleased! Now I can wrap these and take them up to him on Saturday before he goes on the road again! (However, now I want them for myself, lol)

I use these books to get me home after a long day. The insane traffic doesn't seem to bother me as much as before I started listening to an audio cd.

Great storyteller. I can picture the characters and western country.

If you love Westerns...You'll Love Louis L'Amour... Classic Western writer. I got these for my husband to listen to when he drives around in his truck...or when he's in his room. Just good clean entertainment. I enjoy listening to them as well.

I enjoyed these colorful stories of the old west and the narrators tone and descriptions, a return to the old days and story telling at its best.

This is an interesting series of short stories about a Texas Ranger that captures one's interest and holds the interest throughout the entire story. These stories would make a fantastic movie or television show. The dramatization factor makes the story even more interesting. My suggestion - get all of the Chick Bowdrie stories and listen to them in order.

This was a gift for my father who loves audio books and westerns. Louis L'Amour is one of his (and my) favorite authors.

Love the Best of Bridge cook books. Ordered as didn't have this one and there was a Brie recipe I wanted.

Great book

Classic, nostalgic recipes fill this cookbook. The hardcover, spiral binding is a nice touch. Enjoy classics like Artichoke Dip, Green Goddess Salad, Poached Salmon, Christmas Cheese Balls, Shortbread, Ceasar Salad, Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Whether you are cooking for a Holiday Brunch, Cocktail Party, Buffet, Potluck, Sit-Down Dinner or just using up leftovers, you are sure to find something here. I used the Cranberry Muffin recipe substituting milk for the orange juice and Chopped strawberries for the cranberries. My kids demolished them! The cookbook ends with a section on Food Gifts. This is a lovely chapter of Candied Almonds, Spiced Pecans, Cranberry Pistachio Bark, Toffee, Marmalade, Chutney and more. The "Novel Nuts" were a huge hit at the family Christmas dinner!This is a great, nostalgic cook that is great fun to read through and to cook from.I received a copy of this cookbook from Robert Rose, Inc. for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When a group of ladies gets together for bridge, it’s always a great time to bring delicious food and swap recipes. These ladies turned their favorites into a cookbook. The food in it reminds me of the foods I ate as a child at family and church get-togethers. The ladies’ motto is “Simple recipes with gourmet results” and I can tell these are the kind of recipes that are hard to make them wrong. It also has a lay-flat binding and large text which makes it really easy to see and read while cooking. I had turkey left over from Thanksgiving so I made the Quick Turkey Curry, which their addition of mango chutney made it really good. Since it’s holiday time, I also made the Good Old-Fashioned Gingerbread which was baked in a loaf pan. I sliced it and topped it with a lemon sauce and whipped cream, yum! Lots of good recipes and I also really enjoyed their fun and funny sayings that are the end of each recipe!

Finally a spiral bound cook-book with large print and clearly outlined recipes where the pages lay flat and allow the busy gourmand easy reading. This collection of holiday recipes is the latest addition to the Best of Bridge recipe series which emphasizes holiday preparations and treats. Following their mottoes of ‘simple recipes with gourmet results” the inclusions from casual to festive will tickle the taste buds. Recipes are included for buffet parties, brunches, traditional holiday meals, special Christmas and New Year’s Eve banquets and includes dishes for the vegetarians at the table. Unfortunately, no gluten-free instructions are included. Especially nice for this festive season are the sections on desserts, cookies, and food gifts. I especially want to try the Tiger Butter made with melted white and dark chocolate mixed with peanut butter. Variations of many of these recipes can be found in other cookery books, but it is nice to have a concentrated holiday collection at hand. While the pages are filled with many colored illustrations of the completed cuisines, the harsh brassy colors of the illustrations diminish the attractiveness of the recipes.

We love this cookbook! It's filled with recipes you need for holiday entertaining. This cookbook is great because it has tried and true recipes that will be a lifesaver come holiday time when you simply don't have time to test out recipes. I already have tried a few recipes ( Pomegranate and Feta Salad...amazing) and I'm hooked! It will be my go-to book this holiday season.
